After a longer time with no news it is out now: version 5 of our advanced A/V streaming solution. Comparing to what our competitors do when they go such a big step in versioning we decided to do it different: instead of adding several features nobody asks for and nobody really needs we removed one nobody any longer needed (the remote terminal that was replaced by the web interface) and improved the ones we already had groundbreaking. So now streaming of all the different media and container formats and streaming protocols is done more fast, more stable and by consuming less computing power and memory. Or to say it with different words: PeerStream 5 is the fastest and most efficient server software we ever offered and it doesn't misses any features that are necessary also for advanced streaming applications!

With version 4.73 there is a small service release of the PeerStream 5 A/V server available that fixes a bug related to servers that do not have any incoming suppliers and are accessed from outside.

As a next important milestone now the PeerStream 5 P2P Relay is also available as 64-Bit-variant for Linux. So the release 4.85 is not available for Windows or Linux 32 but only for Linux 64.

20.03.2008
The latest update of the A/V server - that is available for free for all customers that have licensed the version 4 - now offers an enhanced stream grabber blocking functionality and fixes a bug that could lead to a license retrieval failure in some cases.

With version 4.84 of the PeerStream 5 P2P server there is a Linux-only update available. It contains a modification of the startup-script that sets a different "ulimit -s" for the started process and its threads. On some (not officially supported) distributions where that limit is much higher the load-dependent spawning of threads could elsewhere lead to failures.

The update to version 4.71 is valid for the software variant LIVE and offers some improvements to work smoothly also with the latest versions of the ffmpeg library.

21.02.2008
With version 4.70 of the A/V streaming server we offer some smaller improvements. So a problem with media format recognization was fixed and the detection of MPEG video data was improved.

22.11.2007
Version 4.70 of the PeerStream 5 P2P relay server and plugin offers a very useful new feature: now the upstreaming bandwidth is detected fully automatic, the user doesn't needs to enter that value manually any longer.

14.11.2007
With version 4.66 of the P2P relay server a small but possibly important bug has been fixed that could cause the software not to accept as much direct connections as configured.

6.11.2007
And last but not least now also a new version 4.92 of the IPTV player and the related IPTV Player Builder is available, they offer the same improvements like the PeerStream 5 P2P relay: An extended blacklist functionality for blocking some more stream grabbers and illegal accesses and introduces some modifications on network link level that should offer faster accesses and a better data throughput on some client systems. The updates are available on the known locations for current customers that already use that software.

Only by fortuity the new version 4.65 of the PeerStream 5 P2P relay is released on Halloween, nevertheless we think the new features are not a nightmare: The new version offers an extended blacklist functionality for blocking some more stream grabbers and illegal accesses and introduces some modifications on network link level that should offer faster accesses and a better data throughput on some hardware platforms. The updates are available on the known locations for current customers that already use that software.
